CoFounder & Director, Joshua McMahon: Business Manager and senior consultant (The Barton Partnership & La Fosse).
CoFounder & Director, Tristram Prior: Experienced underwriter at various firms (IQUW, CHUBB, Talbot Underwriting to name a few).
The market
Competitions offer a way to sell items for more than their market value and according to a survey completed by MRFGR; 80% of people are interested in selling via competitions.
This startup is solving two key problems:
Low trust issues remain prominent, including fear over legitimacy, data security, item authenticity and poor access to hosting.
Heavy handed regulation to combat trust has restricted access to the marketplace through high costs and complex rules.
Founder-Market Fit: Historically worked in highly regulated industries favouring them to champion and lead the market in regulatory compliance and transparency - their key differentiator.
The quicker pitch: ScrewLoose
Attention is the hottest commodity out there right now, but what’s the best way to grab the most of it?
In 2025, it’s common knowledge that video is the most powerful tool.
91% of businesses used video as a marketing tool back in 2024. But for you and your business, that’s a whole lot of noise to cut through. That’s where ScrewLoose comes in.
When we saw their work with OpenSea and the reach they had on their recent OS2 open beta launch we knew these guys had cracked it.
OS2 open beta is now live:
• A fully reimagined product built entirely from the ground up, for collectors and pros
• NFTs 🤝 tokens, brought together in one place

Our Take
Appeals
Decentralising the industry: Allowing anyone to competition off their items and services for a premium is a new approach to the industry as a whole and could be highly successful.
Alternative distribution channel: Individuals and businesses can use RaffClub as an opportunity to get above market-value returns for their products through this unique channel.
Trust and regulation: The founders strengths lie in their experience working in highly regulated markets. The focus on transparency within this market is a key differentiator.
Risks
Marketing Underspend: Online transactions have scaled through now familiar P2P marketplaces. Consumers are used to buying products from each other, RaffClub need to market the use of competitions as another way to do that too.
Moderation and building trust: The keen focus towards trust means any issues could result in highly damaging their reputation in the market.
